Dog Friendly Chicago Restaurants:
Hub 51 – $$ American
Hub 51 provides an all around dining experience that caters to everyone–from people seeking bar-style food, to fine cuisine. Their menu consists of the standards, such as sandwiches, burgers, tacos, sushi, and nachos. They go over the top with their filet mignon steak tacos and the charred sake salmon. The ahi tuna burger is a must if you enjoy fish, while their pulled chicken nachos are enough to feed a small army–but could satisfy a king.

Rockwell’s Neighborhood Grill – $$ American/Southwestern
Rockwell’s aims to be the premiere venue in Lincoln Square–they do a very good job at convincing me not to think otherwise. By day, they cater toward the family crowd. By night, it is the perfect venue to meet up with friends to take down some specialty beers [which are rotational]. Their food is quality here. Their burgers are ridiculous, cheese fries evoke more satisfaction than guilt, and their blackened fish tacos are highly recommended.

Adobo Grill – $$ Mexican
Adobo Grill takes Mexican cuisine to a gourmet level. Their specialty, as you will realize as soon as you step inside, is their guacamole that is made tableside. They create it to your liking, using the freshest ingredients possible. You do not even need to be a fan of guac to want to dive into theirs–it will change your mind. Basically any dish that you order has immense potential to surpass your expectations. Their mojitos and sangria are the perfect ways to compliment dinner and conversation.

Lula Cafe – $$ American

Lula Cafe has humble beginnings as a coffee shop, but has since transformed into a fine dining experience–at a very reasonable price. They serve food all day with varying menus. Their food selection is limited, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. I am pretty confident that at least one menu item will really jump out to anyone browsing the menu. Having limited options allows the chefs to really dial in the recipes to assure quality and consistency. Goat cheese is used pretty consistently, which does not disappoint me at all. The beet bruschetta always seems to be a hit.

Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House – $$$ Seafood
Hugo’s brings some of the highest quality seafood dishes to the heart of downtown Chicago. This classy establishment will surpass expectations time and time again–it does have the same owners as Gibson’s Steakhouse after all. Their crab legs and escargot are almost essentials. Fear not, they do have non-seafood options–such as chicken and steak dishes–to assure that everyone in your party can find satisfaction at Hugo’s.

Dryhop Brewers – $$ American/Brewery
Not much is more satisfying to me than delicious food and even better beer–especially when you can get the drinks directly from the source. I highly recommend getting a flight, and then continuing on with pints of your favorites. They have the standard bar food selections–as well as options that you would expect to see in fine dining venues–it all immensely surpasses bar food quality. Their menus change frequently, which is refreshing. They also serve brunch, lunch/dinner. and late night to satisfy the masses. The menus cater to each timeframe as well. Do not skip out on DryHop Brewers–or their poutine.

90 Miles Cuban Cafe – $$ Cuban
90 Miles Cuban Cafe does not only set itself apart by serving Cuban cuisine and being dog friendly–they are BYOB with no corkage fee! The owners of this establishment are native to Cuba, which means that they have been fully engulfed in Cuban cuisine all of their life–it shows in their dishes. Their empanadas and ropa vieja are highly recommended, but do not be afraid to explore outside of my recommendations–you will be happy that you did. Step into a Cuban oasis and immerse yourself in a night of traditional Cuban dining.

Bad Dog Tavern is a traditional style pub, with the cozy feeling and all, that enjoys their sports. Games are regularly shown across their many screens. For a good burger and great beer, they covered it. Their beer menu boasts seventy-five craft beers from across America and Belgium. That alone is enough to keep you coming back until you have tried them all.

Dunlays on Clark is a Lincoln Park gem. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. They serve food from brunch to dinner, with varying menus. They offer a very nice selection–from pizzas and burgers, to tacos and salads. Their brunch menu boasts many fantastic breakfast options to settle that craving. Although, ordering appetizers and pitchers of sangria are always a good option as well. Be sure to snag a skillet cookie for dessert-your sweet tooth will thank you.
