#1 The West Egg
This near North diner is a popular stomping ground for residents, and visitors alike. With classics likes omelets, and blueberry pancakes that will knock your socks off, the West Egg is a Chicago mainstay for breakfast or brunch, after a late night out in the city. Be prepared for a wait on the weekends, but their complimentary coffee is sure to keep you happy until a table becomes available.
#2 Ann Sather
With multiple locations throughout the city, there’s no name that says, ‘breakfast’ or ‘brunch’ better than Ann Sather. As a Chicago tradition for many years, Ann Sather is one of the best around. Don’t forget to get the signature cinnamon roll, you won’t be sorry!
#3 m. henry
Located at 5707 N. Clark Street in Andersonville, m. henry is a place for everyone. Families with children, couples, and everyone will feel comfortable in this large roomy restaurant. As one of the most popular places for breakfast or brunch, you may encounter a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it! The signature item worth the wait is something called a ‘Bliss cake’ a take on a pancake, but something definitely to write home about. May we recommend the Blackberry Bliss cake. Only if you promise not to blame us for the lethargic unproductive day you may have after your meal. Perhaps a walk around Andersonville after your meal will prove to be the best remedy. Trust us, it’s ALL worth it!
#4 The Bongo Room
Some might argue that The Bongo Room has the market cornered on a great breakfast or brunch in the city. With multiple locations in the South Loop and Andersonville, the locals rave about their menu. With items such as breakfast burritos, vegetarian croissants, omelets to die for, and the best pancakes on the planet, coming here is a no-brainer. The even have a pretzel pancake, which is a must-try for the first time guest!
#5 Big Jones
Located on N. Clark, Big Jones also has something for everyone, but if you are really in the mood for something amazing, a Big Jones Benedict, is exactly what you need! Reminiscent of an old French Farmhouse, at the very least, you must try the mashed potatoes and gravy which will keep you coming back for more, week, after week.
Whatever your choice, these are some of the best that breakfast has to offer in Chicago!
